Marketing and Advertising Your Reflexology Services

by Barbara & Kevin Kunz

Reflexology charts

There's no better way to market your services than widely distributing a laminated foot or hand reflexology chart with your name and number on it. While people may toss out a business card, they hang onto a reflexology chart thus providing a continual reminder of your business. People love the reflexology chart and, if it's laminated and less destructible, they keep it forever. Buy charts in quantity and give them away for free to current clients, friends, relatives, and others to help market your services. (Sample cost: 100 charts for $32 plus shipping) Charts

Foot reflexology App

Have a reflexology chart handy to tell others about reflexology and your services. Many proud parents take a family picture on the cell / mobile phone and have it available to show others. The App on the IPhone or ITouch is a quick way to tell others about reflexology and/or your services. IPhone App

Part of viral marketing is starting a conversation. And, wearing a reflexology T-shirt or polo shirt or carrying a reflexology tote can start the conversation, let others know of your interest and, then, your services. Members of several reflexology associations use such shirts when manning a booth at a health fair or presenting a reflexology program. Reflexology Logo wear

Postcards for reflexology professionals

"Your feet are in good hands" and "We provide care for all shapes and sizes (of feet)," are among the messages on post cards now available from Sharper Communication Tools. Paired with attractive photos, these cards are designed for professionals to communicate with clients, reminding past or potential clients of your services. Also available are business cards, note pads, appointment reminder cards, stationery and other paper goods designed with the alternative health care professional. Available from Sharper Communication Tools, 1-800-561-6677.

Target marketing

See also "Become a specialty reflexologist"

Target marketing consists of aiming your services at a particular group. Most simply, target a group with which you're familiar and/or have used reflexology to good result. Are you a mother who used reflexology during your pregnancy, with your baby or with your children? Are you the child of elderly parents with whom you've used reflexology? Have you successfully used reflexology to help with your own health? Have you successfully used reflexology with your own specific health concern or that of another? We note below the resident of a retirement community who found clients among other residents

Such experience gives you an education with a special application of reflexology in addition to providing credibility when telling others about your services. Enhance such experience credential with knowledge of research in your specialty area. Evidenced Based Reflexology for Reflexologists

If none of the above describes you, think of such an area that interests you and pursue that specialty. Have you always liked babies or senior citizens? Empathized with those who face a chronic or life-threatening condition? Get educated in technique application to this group and in relevant research. Volunteer to work with such groups and gain experience. You'll not only learn, you'll be exposed to people who may hire you or recommend your services to others.
